Near Neighbours brings people together in communities that are religiously and ethnically diverse, so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust, and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community they live in.

Near Neighbours’ objectives are:

  1. Social Interaction: to develop positive relationships in multi-faith areas i.e. to help people from different faiths get to know and understand each other better, and
  2. Social Action: to encourage people of different faiths and of no faith to come together for initiatives that improve their local neighbourhood.

Near Neighbours is a national initiative with its Birmingham local co-ordinator, Rabiyah Latif, based with Thrive Together.

"My interest and commitment to work for Near Neighbours comes from my love for working with communities on a grass root level to enable them to be makers and shapers in their local domain."
