Hidden in Plain Sight: understanding and taking action on modern slavery
Bishop Anne Hollinghurst joins Thrive Together Birmingham on Wednesday 13 October, 6-8pm for an online event to explore, understand and take action on modern slavery.
Modern slavery is present in every major town and city of the UK. We want our communities to be safe places for people to flourish and everyone has a part to play in learning to recognise the signs and how to respond in a safe way. As followers of Jesus we can and must play our part and this event is an opportunity to explore further how we can recognise, respond, reflect and pray.
Hosted by Bishop Anne Hollinghurst, this event will be an opportunity to hear from the Clewer Initiative, the national CofE modern slavery charity, and will include some theological reflection from Bishop Alastair Redfern. It will also be an opportunity to hear local experiences in the West Midlands from anti slavery campaigner Debbie Huxton from Transforming Communities Together.
